CSA-Approved Mixes
Western Concrete is a member of the BC Ready-Mixed Concrete Association. Every mix formula, every batch process, and every mixer truck's onsite production capacity is fully CSA-compliant, down to the equipment and machinery maintenance behind it.
Fleet & Delivery
Our fleet of eight and ten-and-a-half metre trucks gives us the flexibility to meet commercial, agricultural, and residential demand — including pump service coordination through trusted third-party partners when your project needs it.

Quality Assurance
Every Western Concrete product is batched at our computerized Chilliwack plant to CSA quality and performance standards, with scheduled testing, inspection, and reporting at every stage of production — backed by an environmental stewardship program built for sustainable operations.
Concrete Blocks
We recycle surplus concrete into multi-purpose lock blocks for retaining walls, sound barriers, and landscaping — a byproduct of daily production, with delivery available on request. Availability varies with supply.
Colour
Grey is optional. Western Concrete stocks over thirty pigmentations, with special-order colour available on request — plus Powder Release finishes in a range of shades. Talk to our technicians about what's possible for your project.
Horizontal/Vertical Retarder
Applied to fresh concrete for Exposed Aggregate Mixes, retarders delay set time to control finish — vertical retarder for vertical surfaces, horizontal for horizontal.
Xypex
An additive engineered to block water and liquid penetration into concrete, helping prevent freeze/thaw cracking for a longer-lasting structure.
Fibermesh®
Available in a range of fibre sizes, Fibermesh® reduces early-age cracking while promoting more uniform bleeding — making the concrete easier to finish.

FAQ
People often use the terms interchangeably, but cement — a fine, manufactured powder known as Portland cement — is just one ingredient in concrete, which combines cement, aggregates (sand, rock), and water, often with additions like fly ash and other admixtures.
Slump describes how workable — how 'wet' — a mix is. Higher slump means more water, but too much weakens the concrete's strength and longevity. Most applications only need a 100mm (4 inch) slump. Less water generally means stronger concrete.
Order at least two days ahead when possible. Summer months (May 1–Sept 30) get busy fast, so book earlier if you can. Winter (Oct 1–April 30) usually allows next-day ordering. Need it sooner? Call us — we'll find a way to help.
MPa measures concrete strength — the higher the number, the stronger the concrete, typically from a higher cement content. That means greater durability, density, and ease of placement. Standard concrete generally ranges from 10 MPa (1,450 psi) to 40 MPa (5,800 psi).
Yes — sustainable construction has pushed 'green concrete' into the mainstream. Cement, sand, aggregate, and water can all be recycled or supplemented with recycled materials, cutting resource use without compromising strength or beauty.
